Pest Details
Adult
Length of 7-10 mm. Uniform mid brown with dense covering of pale hairs. Pronotum & elytra with rounded appearance. Ridged lines present along eltra but not 2 toned like in A. lineatus. Legs & antennae uniformly dark brown.
Larvae
Up to 25 mm long and width up to 2 mm. Body shiny and pale yellow.
Eggs
White, globe shaped & 0.5 mm in diameter. Laid below the soil surface.
Distribution
Throughout Europe, parts of Asia and has now been introduced to Northern America.
Economic Host(s)
Wide range of root and leafy crops including sugar beet, potatoes, oats and barley.
Symptons/Signs
Plant damage includes boring and feeding of roots and injury to stem bases. Patchy seedling emergence, wilting of seedlings and plant bending are all symptoms.

<1. The harmful larval stage can extend from 3-5 years.

Recommended Trap Density
1-2 traps per hectare
Trap Maintenance
Check traps on a regular basis; at least twice a week. It is recommended to replace the pheromone dispensers every 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. Replace the sticky inserts, if used, when they become filled with dust or insects.
Storage
Keep product away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame. Store in a refrigerator for a shelf life of 18 months or a freezer for an extended life of 24 months. Always store sealed in original packaging.
