Pest Details
Adult
Length of 5.5 -8 mm. Thorax shining and elytra reddishyellow. Antennae entirely yellow. Thorax more shiny, less transverse and more rounded at sides in comparison with A. obscurus .
Larvae
Length up to 20 mm & width up to 1.5 mm. Body yellow, rigid and cylindrical. Mandible bears small tooth in the middle
Eggs
Deposited singly or in small batches at a depth of 2-5 cm in the soil. Eggs are preferentially laid in damp or fresh ground.
Distribution
Throughout Europe, western parts of Asia, and now introduced into North America
Economic Host(s)
Wide range of root and leafy crops including sugarbeet, potatoes, oats and barley.
Symptons/Signs
Plant damage includes boring and feeding of roots and injury to stem bases. Patchy seedling emergence, wilting of seedlings and plant bending are all symptoms.

<1. The harmful larval stage can extend from 3-5 years.

1-2 traps per hectare
Trap Maintenance
Check traps on a regular basis; at least twice a week. It is recommended to replace the pheromone dispensers every 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. Replace the sticky inserts, if used, when they become filled with dust or insects.
Storage
Keep product away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame. Store in a refrigerator for a shelf life of 18 months or a freezer for an extended life of 24 months. Always store sealed in original packaging.
