Pest Details
Adult
Wingspan of 17-22mm. Forewings pale yellowish brown to reddish-brown with pale patches along the costa. Hindwings are pale grey-brown with whitish fringe.
Larvae
Length up to 29 mm. Body is yellow green to darker green. Legs are pale and head is black or has a dark eye patch or bar.
Eggs
Eggs are oval, white to grey and laid in flat masses on the base of large branches and rough bark or trunks and limbs. Egg masses are usually covered by hairs from the body.
Distribution
Eastern United States and parts of Canada.
Economic Host(s)
Primarily Oak (Quercus) but also Witchhazel (Hamamelis) and apple (Malus).
Symptons/Signs
Early larval instars feed on buds and later instars feed on leaves sheltered within a rolled leaf.

Recommended Trap Density
1-2 traps per hectare in large uniform stands and 3-4 per hectare in scattered stands.
Trap Maintenance
Check traps on a regular basis; at least twice a week. It is recommended to replace the pheromone dispensers every 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. Replace the sticky inserts, if used, when they become filled with dust or insects.
Storage
Keep product away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame. Store in a refrigerator for a shelf life of 18 months or a freezer for an extended life of 24 months. Always store sealed in original packaging.
