Pest Details
Adult
Forewing length of 5-6.5 mm. Forewings are dull greyish-brown with a row of black dots near the wing apex.
Larvae
Early instars are typically whitish with a black head. Late instar larvae reach ca. 10-12 mm in length. Body pinkish with large pale pinacula. Head and prothoracic plate
yellowish-brown. The anal plate is pale brown without mottling. An anal comb is present with ca. 5 teeth.
Eggs
Slightly oval in shape, ca. 13mm in length. Translucent white initially, becoming amber with age. Laid on upper leaf surfaces, usually on terminal leaves of young shoots.

Cosmopolitan
Economic Host(s)
Orchard fruits (Prunus, Malus and Pyrus species), especially peach, nectarine and apricot.
Symptons/Signs
Larvae of the first generation feed within shoots and buds. This can result in many lateral shoots appearing below attacked terminal shoots and crooked stems. Later generations of larvae may leave twigs to feed on fruit either by entering small fruit by boring into the side or via the stem of larger fruit.

Recommended Trap Density
2 traps per hectare in large uniform orchards and 3-5 traps per hectare in mixed and less dense tree crops.
Trap Maintenance
Check traps on a regular basis; at least twice a week. It is recommended to replace the pheromone dispensers every 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. Replace the sticky inserts when they become filled with dust or insects.
Storage
Keep product away from heat and direct sunlight. Store in a refrigerator for a shelf life of 18 months or a freezer for an extended life of 24 months. Always store sealed in original packaging.
