Adult
Forewings are variable, most often being pale orangebrown to dark reddish brown sometimes with darker spots or with a pale spot in the basal third of the wing. Males are typically darker than females. Forewing length of 8-12 mm in males and 10-14.5 mm in females
Larvae
Late instar larvae reach 25 mm in length. Body is green and the head is transparent pale brown to green, sometimes with darker mottling. The prothoracic shield is
pale green without lateral shading. An anal comb is present with 10-12 teeth.
Eggs
Laid in masses of 50 or so eggs which don’t have a coating of white particles.

New Zealand and Hawaii
Economic Host(s)
Primarily a pest of strawberry, apple, stone fruits and walnut.
Symptons/Signs
Early instars form a silk shelter on the underside of leaves while later instars web leaves together or web leaves to fruit. In the latter case larvae feed directly on the surface of the fruit.

Recommended Trap Density
2-3 traps per hectare In small dispersed or heterogenous crop stands extra traps should be considered.
Trap Maintenance
Check traps on a regular basis, preferably twice a week. Replace the pheromone dispensers every 4 weeks to achieve optimum results. Replace sticky inserts once when they become saturated with dust or insects.
Storage
Keep product away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame. Store in a refrigerator for a shelf life of 18 months or a freezer for an extended life of 24 months. Always store sealed in original packaging.
